Opticon Stockholm 2023
Opticon is an annual event organized by Optimizely, a company focused on creating and optimizing digital experiences. Opticon 2023 explored the interplay between art and science, and how these two fields work together to create better digital experiences while empowering the people who create them. The conference featured a wide range of sessions, including hands-on workshops, product immersions and inspiring keynotes.
The event took place at Stockholm Waterfront on November 29, 2023 and on site we at Centas were responsible for the event technology. On the main stage we had Keynote speakers and there we had a beMatrix LED wall that measured 7×4 meters. In the stands we had our professional studio cameras from PANASONIC that followed the speakers and could be seen on the two seven-meter screens hanging next to the stage.
There were also two breakout rooms and an exhibitor hall for partners and sponsors. In the smaller rooms we recorded the different sessions with our semi-pro cameras.
In the exhibitor hall, we had delivered twelve smaller screens in the size 43″.
Optimizely was very satisfied with the day and the 1,300 participants gave a very good rating for a good content during the day.
We were 13 people on site from Centas during the day and the tasks were varied, we had cameramen, S3 technicians, image technicians, LED technicians, image producers and a runner on site. All according to the wishes of the customer.
During the event itself, each technician is dedicated to a specific task or area. This could be managing the sound mixer, monitoring video feeds, controlling the lighting, or making sure the streaming services work without interference. Our aim is for the technology to be as unobtrusive and efficient as possible – participants should barely notice we are there. But our presence is crucial for everything to run smoothly.
In short, as technicians at Centas, we are the backbone of every event we work on. Through our prep work, our attention to detail, and our ability to quickly resolve unexpected issues, we ensure that each conference is not only technically successful, but also an experience that attendees will remember positively.
