Facade projection Hötorgsskrapan
Facade projection, or video mapping, is a technique where video content and effects are projected onto the exterior of a building to create optical illusions, moving images and three-dimensional effects. This adds a whole new dimension to architecture, transforming ordinary buildings into stunning works of art.
Here we were contacted by Nordic Murals, which makes, among other things, facade paintings that needed help with projection for the benefit of their customer.
The location was one of the Hötorg skyscrapers in Stockholm and the projector we used is a Barco UDX-4K32, which is a very bright laser projector with 4k resolution.
Three advantages of façade projection:
- Creativity and Customization: Through façade projection, artists and designers can create unique visual stories tailored to specific buildings, giving them a new life and expression.
- Audience Engagement: These light shows attract large audiences and are an effective way to convey messages, whether for advertising, entertainment or art.
- Flexibility: Unlike permanent artworks, digital projections can be easily changed and adapted to different events or themes.
