Outdoor projector

Create a magical outdoor experience
Whether your business is hosting a movie night under the stars, streaming sporting events or creating a creative presentation in the great outdoors, an outdoor projector offers flexibility and impressive image quality to enhance any occasion. But to really get the most out of your outdoor experience, you need the right equipment and to think about the practicalities around it.
What can you do with an outdoor projector?
With the right technology, the possibilities are almost endless with outdoor projectors. Companies setting up outdoor cinemas or streaming sporting events are perhaps what many people first think of when it comes to outdoor projectors. But the fact is that there is far more that you can use projectors for outdoors.
During kick-offs, conferences and presentations, an outdoor projector can be a surprising element that enhances the experience. On the one hand, a presentation can be made more interactive and does not need to be tied to a specific location, and on the other hand, you can take advantage of nature and the surroundings to reinforce your message. Why not have the presentation in several different outdoor locations and let the participants or audience move between the different locations as part of the experience?
Facade projection – another opportunity
Outdoor projectors are also used for façade projection. It is just as it sounds, a way of projecting images onto whatever is at hand, a facade, a rock wall or a tree. Facade projection is something that really creates attention, however, it takes real precision to make sure it turns out well. In other words, using a projector and projector screen outdoors is a little easier to achieve.

Benefits of outdoor projectors and projection screens
The great advantage of an outdoor projector is the unique opportunity to combine technology and nature. You get the same visual experience as indoors, but with fresh air and a sense of freedom that only outdoor environments can offer. The right projector and screen can deliver an image that is sharp, colorful and clear – even in challenging lighting conditions, like at dusk.
An outdoor projector offers flexibility and versatility, and is not tied to a fixed installation, you choose the environment that favors your presentation or conference.
You have the opportunity to give participants a big experience with big pictures, without walls to limit the image. For outdoor events, where bigger is always better, this gives a cinema-like feel that engages all participants.

What to consider?
To get the best results, it is important to plan and choose the right equipment. Among other things, you need to consider brightness, power supply and weather conditions.
1. projector brightness (lumens)
An outdoor projector needs to be bright enough to handle the ambient light. Generally, a projector with at least 10,000-15,000 lumens is recommended to ensure a clear image, even at dusk. If you plan to use it during afternoon/dusk, you should go for an even brighter model, preferably 30,000 lumens or more.
2. resolution
A high resolution, such as Full HD (1080p) or 4K, is essential to get a sharp and detailed image. This is especially important if you want to watch movies or play games where image quality matters a lot.
3. the importance of the project canvas
A good projector screen is almost as important as the projector itself. For outdoor use, the screen should be made of a material that is weather-resistant and highly reflective. Many outdoor screens are portable and easy to assemble, making them ideal for temporary installations. Alternatively, you can use a flat white wall, but the result is rarely as good as with a real screen.
4. Location and sound
Place the projector on a stable surface or use a stand. Also consider the sound – outdoor environments often require external speakers to ensure that everyone hears the sound clearly.
5. Power supply and connections
Make sure you have an available power source or battery pack if you are far from an electrical outlet. Also make sure the projector has the connections you need, such as HDMI for movies and games or wireless casting for streaming content.
6. Weather and shelter
As you are outdoors, the weather is always a factor. Make sure your equipment is protected against moisture, rain and wind. There are also projectors specifically designed for outdoor use with weatherproof enclosures. We often place the projector in a container or car to ensure it is properly protected.
